The campus Library

Discover our Library which is part of the University Libraries ans Archives

The Piacenza Campus Library is open Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm and from 2.30 pm to 7.30 pm; on Saturday from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm. To access the library study rooms it is compulsory to reserve your place via the Affluences app. Thanks to this new service, students can find out in real time the occupancy level of seats in the Library and proceed to book their seat. A simple and clear interface provides up-to-date information on opening hours and the main communications to users. The Affluences mobile app is free of charge, advertising-free and freely downloadable from App Store and Google Play.

Our Library was created with the aim of providing adequate support for the research, teaching and education requirements of the study programmes offered at the Caserma Neve and G.U. Arata Campuses. There are more than 7000 open-shelf monographs and 4 current subscription periodicals.

The online catalogue (OPAC) can be consulted via the web. Electronic periodicals, databases and e-books can be consulted from the library's workstations or from home by setting up the University proxy. Each user can borrow 5 books at the same time (loan period 29 days). The loan is renewable for 14 days, provided that the book has not been reserved by another user. Renewal can be made online from the Personal Area of the OPAC catalogue, by presenting the book at the desk or by calling the loan service (052356871). Delays in returning a book will incur a penalty. Graduates may only have 1 book on loan and may only make 1 extension.

The online services provided include:

  • loan request for an available document;
  • reservation of a document on loan;
  • renewal of a loan from the third day before the expiry date and no later than the expiry date;
  • cancellation of a loan request or reservation made;
  • interlibrary loan requests;
  • purchase suggestions.

The catalogue and online services are also accessible via smartphone by downloading the free mobile application for I-Phone and Android PolimiLibrary.
