Monday April 28th, 2025 at 11.00 am in the Nicelli Pavillion of the Arata Campus the opening of the lecture series “Adriatic Futures. Exploring the Socio-ecological Transition of the Adriatic City” will take place.

The lectures are organized as part of the teaching activities of the laurea program in Architectural Design, course Urban Planning Studio (professors Luca Lazzarini and Stefano Stabilini).

The lecture series “Adriatic Futures: Exploring the Socio-Ecological Transition of the Adriatic City” seeks to present and critically engage with research and design practices that consider the Adriatic City as a significant site for experimentation in urban planning and design. This relevance stems from the region’s complex socio-ecological challenges, which profoundly influence the habitability of both human and non-human populations. The contributions, drawing upon diverse methodological and disciplinary approaches, will examine various transformative trajectories that interrogate the socio-spatial consequences of deindustrialization dynamics and contemporary touristification processes in the broader context of ecological degradation and climate change.
